A race to finish
In the article "A race to finish" the main idea was about this race called the Barkley marathons that was presumably "impossible" to finish, and its do hard this is an actual quote from the article "And if after 60 hours you haven't beat it the Barkley beats you" . the race of Barkley marathons take place on April in Frozen Head State Park in Tennessee with allowing you to use no GPS but a compass and map to navigate throughout the Barkley marathons with their own survival equiptment and food to survive the race to finish. In the Barkley marathon race along the way there are several checkpoints in witch you have to rip out a page from the book that lies within the checkpoint and take it with you on your journey to complete the race. this year two men made it to loop five of the race one by the name of John Kelly that grew up near the Tennessee park, And Gary Robbins who grew up in Newfoundland. the two men raced alongside each other for the first five loops of the race but for the last loop it was somewhat different. At the last loop of the race the two competes were sent in opposite ways of each other to not watch who comes in first. John Kelly finishd the fifth loop at the time of 59:30 with Mr Robbins not near the finish. It turned out that Gary took a wrong turn away from the finish line and around the mountain due to all the fog in the area. Gary released he took the wrong turn he approached a staircase he quickly questioned the mistake he made with reason. he asked himself "were there any staircases on the trail of Barkley marathons"? coming to his conclusion there wasn't a staircase alone the trail. By then it was little too late for Mr Robbins because when he used the last of his energy to book it to the finish line his time was up and had to wait till next year when the Barkley marathons occurred again.
